 Indian Nuclear powered ballistic Missile Submarine 


The Arihant class submarine is a class of indian nuclear powered ballistic Missile Submarine for the indian navy. The submarines provide Platform for india to launch nuclear weapons by sea. These submarines were developed under the advanced technology vassal project. The project is to design and build nuclear powerd submarine these vassals are called strategic strike  nuclear  submarines. They are build by navy shipbuilding center visakhapatnam. The INS Arihant was launched in 2009 for Sea trial after completion of sea trial it was commissioned in August 2016 . And its a first nuclear powerd submarine to have been built by india other than 5 biggest power like USA, Russia , China , France and uk its a big achievement of the indian defense industries.

INS Arihant is a heavy technology demonstrate vassals in its class. Arihant is 364 ft long and it has displacement of 600 tonnes the submarine is powered by single seven blade propeller and can achieve maximum speed of 15 knot. Arihant class submarines have four launch tubes they can carry upto 12 K-15 Sagarika missile' with Range upto 750 km they can also carry 4 K-4 missile with range upto 3500 km and all Missiles were built by india. After completion of two Submarines arihant and arighat india will develop 2 more submarines in this project S3 and S4 they are bigger than arihant and arighat and cam carry more weapons.
